Vidya Shivadas | Director
Vidya Shivadas is a curator based in New Delhi. After her Bachelors in Sociology from Delhi University and a Masters in Art Criticism from Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University of Baroda, she joined Vadehra Art Gallery in 2002. She has curated exhibitions at the Gallery which include Something I’ve been meaning to tell you (with Sunil Gupta), April 2011; Faiza Butt, Ruby Chishti, Masooma Syed (three Pakistani women artists), April 2009; Fluid Structures: Gender and Abstraction in India, April 2008; among others. In 2009, she was a guest curator at Devi Art Foundation and worked on the solo exhibition of Bangladeshi artist Mahbubur Rahman.
In 2007, she was invited to participate in the educational programming for Documenta 12 from May to September 2007 in Kassel, Germany. She has co-curated an exhibition (with Akansha Rastogi and Deeksha Nath) Zones of Contact: Propositions on the Museum (January 18 – September 30, 2013) at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Noida. Vidya’s role in FICA is to create links between academia and private institutions and promote the exchange of knowledge about Indian art through workshops and the establishment of an archive.
Roshini Vadehra | Fundraising
Roshini Vadehra is the Director of Vadehra Art Gallery. She has a B.A. in Business Administration from Boston University and has studied Art and Its Market at Sotheby’s. Roshini facilitated the opening of Vadehra’s gallery space in Okhla in 2005 which has held important exhibitions by artists such as Atul Dodiya, Baiju Parthan, Arpita Singh, Rameshwar Broota and Anju Dodiya. She was actively involved in forging a partnership with Grosvenor Gallery, London, to set up Grosvenor Vadehra in 2006. Grosvenor Vadehra has held several Indian art exhibitions in London and reciprocally held exhibitions of Western Masters Delhi such as Pablo Picasso in 2006 and Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon in 2007. Roshini focuses on fundraising initiatives for FICA.
Parul Vadehra | Public Relations
Parul Vadehra graduated from Boston University's College of Communication with a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a major in Public Relations and specialization in Women’s Studies. After working at well-known public relations and communication firms, both in Boston and New Delhi, Parul moved on to join Vadehra Art Gallery in 2007, where she is involved in the management and programming for its five gallery and bookstore spaces. She is also actively involved in the NGO Love & Care, which works in areas including healthcare, education and community development in over 80 slums in Delhi. Parul has been active in the coordination of FICA programming and will focus on public relations for the foundation.
Shivangi Singh | Programme Officer
Shivangi Singh has a BA in Fine Arts from College of Art, Delhi and MA in Visual Arts from School of Culture and Creative Expressions, Ambedkar University, Delhi. She has worked as an illustrator for children books with Eklavya Foundation, a publication house in Bhopal. Independent of her role in FICA, she is part of an artists’ collective with Karthik KG, Aruna Rao and Aryakrishnan Ramakrishnan, who have co-curated a two part show, stutter in your eloquence at BC Gallery, Kochi (2014) and stutter in your eloquence II at Ambedkar University, Delhi (2015). She has curated two exhibitions, Impulses in Drawing in 2015 and At the turn of a Page in 2016 at Vadehra Art Gallery, Delhi and is part of the curatorial team at the gallery. Shivangi is responsible for developing, archiving and coordinating the annual programmes, grants and workshops at FICA.
