Frameworks 2023: An exhibitory platform for FICA grantees

Returning to familiar ground with new contexts, diverse explorations and vivid propositions, we were pleased to announce the launch of our annual exhibitory platform, Frameworks 2023, bringing together an exciting series of programmes by FICA grantees.

The months of July and August were packed with a line-up of events spanning a research forum showcasing the exemplary scholarship undertaken by our recent Ila Dalmia FICA Research Grant awardees, a durational performance by Emerging Artist Award 2020 grantee Bhisaji Gadekar, along with gatherings and a display by Public Art Grant 2020 awardee —out-of-line—.

Frameworks 2023 promised innovative avenues of dialogue around art, artistic practice, critical research and the dynamism of contemporary visual cultures, garnering reflections and conversations as it unfolds over eight weeks. We invited and hosted new audiences and experimental engagements at both our venues—the FICA Reading Room in Lado Sarai and Vadehra Art Gallery, Defence Colony—tying together our flagship support platforms and the wonderful accumulations they have allowed us over the years.
