Writing Art
Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi
January 7-13, 2007 |
| |
The practice and theorization of art
are related to the reception and the
circulation of art. Writing makes
the “artness” of art, contributing
to its aura and value. Art is
visual, writing about art is
textual. Art criticism and history
mediate art through text for a wider
audience. Interpretations and
opinions gain further value in
published works. The workshop took
this relationship between visual
and
written texts as its impetus.
