| Emerging Artist Award 2008 |

| The Emerging Artists Award supports
young artists studying or practicing in
India who demonstrate extraordinary skill
and promise in the visual arts. An
independent jury of distinguished artists
and professionals in the field will select
two winners each year. |

| The award includes an exhibition at Vadehra Art Gallery
in the following year, a two-month
studio/residency to
produce a body of work for the exhibition,
as well as a stipend to cover costs. |

| For 2008, FICA is looking at
providing the recipients of the
award with an opportunity of a
foreign residency. Residency details
will be provided shortly. |

| In order to be
eligible for this award, the
applicant must be a full-time
resident of India and a visual art
student or an emerging artist under
the age of 35. |
| |
| The winners will be announced on
September 1, 2008. The application deadline is May
31, 2008. |
