| Vidya Shivadas is a young
curator based in New Delhi. After
her Bachelors in Sociology from
Delhi University and a Masters in
Art Criticism from Faculty of Fine
Arts, M S University, Vadodara, she
joined, Vadehra Art Gallery in 2002.
In her five years at the Gallery,
she has curated exhibitions like
Objects: Making/Unmaking (April
2007), Shadow Lines (August 2006)
and Are We Like This Only (March
2005), and has written several
catalogue essays as well.

Apart from her Gallery experience,
Vidya is also deeply interested in
the relationship between
institutions and art practice. |

| She worked as a researcher on
the Getty-funded study Museology and
the Colony being conducted by
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New
Delhi and University of California,
Los Angeles under the guidance of Dr
Kavita Singh and Dr Saloni Mathur,
which is a nation-wide study of
museums in India. More recently, she
was invited by Goethe-Institut and
the Education Department of
Documenta 12 to participate in the
educational programme of Documenta
12 from May to September, 2007 in
Kassel, Germany. |

| Vidya’s role at FICA is to
create links between academia and
the art market and promote the
exchange of knowledge about Indian
art through workshops and the
establishment of an archive. |
